Robb B
I downloaded the new voice in Lion, Tom, and Tom has a lot of trouble reading non-English texts in Accordance. See the screenshot for the error I get when reading GNT-T or BHS-W4 with Tom's classy voice.
Helen Brown
Sorry, even with the upcoming bug fix for speech, the new Lion voices will not be able to read our Greek and Hebrew.
William Cross
That is a bummer. I was very much looking forward to a Greek voice speaking Greek. Will this happen in the future?
Mike Garrity
William, I don't believe the new Lion voices support phonemes (needed for our Greek and Hebrew) and that this is a known issue (reported and Apple is looking for feedback). Hopefully this will be resolved in a future Lion update, Mike
DOrion
Since updating to Lion and Accordance 9, I found on the read back using even using the speech voice Alex, certain words containing an apostrophe will mess up. Like the word "Don't" or "can't" and wondering if there is a fix? Thank you DAvid
DOrion
It looks like any word that has an apostrophe has a problem being read back using speech in Accordance 9 and Lion. Any fixes available? Thank you David
Mike Garrity
I was able to reproduce and fix this bug (thank you for pointing it out). The problem is when smart single quotes are part of the selected text then Accordance is substituting a double quote instead of a single quote (apostrophe). This is why "Alex" is breaking "Don
