charlie
I love Accordance! I'd love it even more if an option to minimize the toolbars for individual zones could be added to a future release. It could be a default setting. In Mail, Preview (pdf viewer), Word for Mac, etc. this option is given by clicking the oval on the top right of the toolbar. Thanks for a great Bible software! charlie
Here's a screen shot of what I had in mind. The red boxes represent the "toolbars" which could be minimized in order to create extra real estate. Accordance Minimize Toolbars.tiff
A. Smith
I've got to say that when I first saw this I thought, 'what difference will that make'. Now, as I'm working in accord with 5-6 zones and a lot more tabs i realize this would be really helpful, especially as a small screen solution. Maybe to search box could fade in and out like the browser does on tools? Anyway, count me in for some version of this idea!
Mads Christensen
As a Macbook Air 11 inch owner I very much support this suggestion. But it should not hide the bar with text size buttons as you suggest. (bottom left window in the screenshot) Two other related suggestions: Perhaps the Search "Toolbar" could be made less heavy or prominent even when it is displayed: This could be done by changing the word/verses and search text buttons to different control types. I think the search was actually displayed like the text titles just above the text diplay areas once. Bring that back. The other toolbar could also be smaller. The one in the the "text-set" windows - the ones without a search field - bottom right in the screenshot. I use these alot to save a little screen estate and it seems the height often could be halved by moving all controls down on one line. Not in the screenshot above but still it would be great if Accordance tried to fit everything into a single row before doing the two row thing. Rick Yentzer
Certainly on a smaller screen the toolbars take up a lot of vertical space. I like the idea of hiding the the toolbar.
