Russ
When I attempt to transfer a Microsoft Word document "name.doc" to My Tools, the file name is grayed out and therefore is not transferrable. But when I do a control C and then a control V, the information is transferred. Why the difference? On the other hand, when I attempt to transfer a Microsoft Word document "name.txt", the file is black and is transferred. I would appreciate any response that could clear up my confusion. David Lang
Russ, When you say transfer do you mean that you are trying to import these documents as User Tools? The User Tool import supports plain text files (.txt) and HTML files but not Word files (.doc). To import your Word document, first save or export that document as an html file and then import the resulting html file. Hope this helps.

OK, I understand the transfer of txt and html files but why does the import works when I copy and paste a Word doc. file?
David Lang
In the case of Copy and Paste you're merely copying the text into the User Tool edit window. In that case, file formats are irrelevant.
