Recommended Posts

I was prompted to update Accordance to 14.0.9 Accordance for Mac 14.0.9, [macOS Sonoma 14.3.1, 16 inch 2021 MacBook Pro, Apple M1 Pro, 16 GB]

It crashed. I tried restarting in safe mode and removed the startup and caches. It opened to a generic session. Trying an autosaved session: crash. Trying a previously saved session: crash.

Here is one log:

14.0.8 was very stable. I wish I could go back. The website only has 14.0.9

Mark, I just installed 14.0.9 and am so far not having any issues.  I also am running [macOS Sonoma 14.3, 14 inch 2021 MacBook Pro, Apple M1 Pro 32 GB].

@Michael J. Bolesta, you can find installers for older versions here: https://www.accordancefiles1.com/products/ . I'm neither a Mac user nor using 14.x yet, but I think the installer you want for 14.0.8 is https://www.accordancefiles1.com/products/Accordance14_installer14.0.8.dmg . Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

That installer should get you back to 14.0.8, but you're likely to have some issues with it in Sonoma 14.3 and later.

I'd recommend emailing into Tech Support and linking this thread to it so we can assist you in getting 14.0.9 going for you, but you can try running 14.0.8 in the meantime.

By the way, my devices are running 14.0.9 and so far excellent. Far superior to 14.0.8.

I used a backup to copy 14.0.8 to my SDD. Accordance still crashed till I also restored preferences from the backup.

Thanks for the update! At least you're set for the weekend, but I'd definitely reach out to Tech Support Monday. Accordance 14.0.9 is running super well on all my devices (as well as customer devices during beta testing), so there's something we need to troubleshoot with your installation.

Well I tried again. I saved a copy of 14.0.8 and copied 14.0.9 from the website dmg to the Applications folder (rather than the inline install)  and started Accordance which immediately crashed. It would not let me open the crash log (said I did not have permissions). I did a safe restart, deleting the startup and emptying caches, fixing fonts. It opened to a generic startup workspace. I closed this and opened a saved session and Accordance crashed again. Here is the log:

@Dr. Nathan Parker I will contact tech support next week. I have never had a problem with inline updates before (though I did have issues with the initial release of Accordance 14).

I do use a session with four workspaces that I toggle through. Accordance crashed each time I tried to open a saved copy of the session. Since @Steve Carruth is using the latest Sonoma 14.3.1 (14.3 giving some folks issues) that I am on Apple silicon, it seems that the MacOS is not the issue.

Thanks for the update. I'm DMing you something else to try.

Update: I saved each workspace of my saved session separately. I then did an inline install of 14.0.9 for MacOS.

Three of the four opened without crashing the app. The fourth consistently caused a crash. It included the Targums WordMap. Although it is in the Gloss folder (Library>Application Support>Accordance>Gloss folder), it does not show up in my Library. If I try to open it from the Finder I get an error message:

Easy Install shows it as owned and installed.

I  created a new session with my four workspaces, but now I do not have access to the Targums Word Map.

Another user had this issue a while back. Support should be able to work with you on this sometime this week.

Well, I shut down Accordance and restarted. Now I can access the Targums Wordmap and my old saved session in Accordance 14.0.9

Thanks be to God!
