blgriffin83
I'm just learning the rules of vowels around prefixes. Is it possible to do a search for example for all instances of ה (the) attached to a noun and be able to specify the first letter of the noun it attaches to? For example if I wanted to see all instances where ה prefixes a word that begins with a ע. If this is possible is it also possible to specify the 2nd letter of the word too? So for example I could search for all instances of ה that prefixes to a word that starts with מ and a second letter is ע? What about being able to specify the vowel pointings for each letter in the examples above?
Ken Simpson
Yes, and it's pretty simple. With a Hebrew text as your search text type in heth, then ayin (and a third letter if you wish) and then add an asterisk *הע Press return and voila. Specifying vowel points is slightly more difficult but only a little simply add an = before the heth and place the vowel where you wish it to be. so something like this... *הַע=

For some reason, this is only pulling up words where the ה is part of the actual word and not the definite article. Is there any way to specify that in my search I want the ה part of the search to be the definite article and the next letter or two to be the 1st and 2nd letter of the actual word it is prefixing to?
