Hello everyone

I'm currently exploring purchasing the SIL Exegetical Summary series and the UBS handbooks and would love to hear your thoughts and experiences if you've used either. They both seem like they'd be great resources for my exegetical process. I'm just wondering what the differences are between the two and if anyone has found it useful to own both. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I own both and I use SIL all the time. It sits at the top of my "commentaries."

Thank you @ReformedDoc for the screen shots. They were extremely helpful.

Thanks you @Tony Lawrence for your feedback.

I can see the value in owning both. Especially because the UBS also covers the OT. The questions in the exegetical series have me sold. Thanks again :)

I own and use both. SIL offers good summaries and points you to various modules in your library for further study. UBS is good if you need to think through how a translator would translate the biblical languages, but it's also a very "approachable" commentary especially to someone new with exegetical commentaries. You can't go wrong with either or both.
