Windows Backup Questions

I have a couple of questions about backing up a Windows PC running Windows 11 Pro:

 

1. I'm currently using Windows' built-in backup tool (I believe I'm using File History) to backup my files. Is that good enough or should I be looking at other options?

 

2. Since it's a notebook computer with a portable backup drive, should I also encrypt the drive with BitLocker encryption?
