Listing all the Hebrew words translated "Praise"

Greetings, everyone. Is there a way to have Accordance list all the Hebrew words which are translated "Praise" in English?

I feel sure there must be some way to do it in a program as sophisticated as Accordance.

Thanks!

Just put your cursor in the word "praise" and click on the "Word Study" icon.

Or, if you have "Word Study" turned on in your Live Click preferences, you can just click on the word "praise."

Hi @KevinPaszalek,

What @Mark Allison said is correct on v.14, and I think you might be on v.13 like me, I want to show you how to do it there also.

1) Open whatever Bible you want, I am using the ESV.
2) Type praise* I am adding the * so it captures praised and praises and such.
3) There are now two ways, you can either write praise* [Range Gen-Mal]  OR you can use the preset range like I did in my screenshot.
4) Press enter
5) Click on that little wheel next to 246 (which is telling you the count), and the pulls up a dropdown list.
6) From that list, click Analyis and the info will show to the right.

Ps - For step 3, for the range, all you need to do is right prais* r and when you press the r Accordance will prompt you to fill in the range.

I hope this helps.

you can also do a search and then choose pie chart from analytics which will give similar results but not in list form

Yet another way...

Use the TEXT command.

  1. Open a Hebrew (or Greek) Bible
  2. Right click in command line and choose Enter Command > Text
  3. In the popup, choose your English Bible
  4. Search for prais*    (This is better than praise* so that you can get praising.)
  5. Use Analytics > Analysis

Note that if you also want to get the Greek, in the Analysis window, choose the gear settings icon > Customize Display.

Drag over Intertext and choose LXX Rahlfs Tagged / Lexeme

Now you will get the Hebrew and all the Greek translating the Hebrew.
