Jason_H Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 (edited) After contacting Accordance support, I wanted to post a quick note for anyone else who may be using or planning to use the NIrV module for Accordance. The module does not reflect the 2014 updates, since the copyright says it comes from 1998. Nowhere on the module sales page does it point out that this is an out-of-print revision (and more than two decades old at that). In my publishing context, the Accordance NIrV module is useless until it receives an update. I was told by sales support that they have no plans or timeline to do that, which is unfortunate! Mark Allison Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 The website should definitely be updated to display the version information. The 2016 changes are substantial enough that Accordance will need to create a completely new module.
shane Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Just chiming in to add that I too would like to see the updated NIrV as we utilize it for our children's worship. It would be helpful to have it in Accordance to be able to compare it with other translations. 😃
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Still from Zondervan, correct? Remind me of the new publishing date?
shane Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Yes, I believe it is still from Zondervan! I think the latest is from 2014. Below is what I found from Amazon: https://a.co/d/3ErIPD5 Publisher : Zonderkidz; Revised edition (June 24, 2014) Bible Gateway lists the following for NIRV: New International Reader's Version (NIRV) Copyright © 1995, 1996, 1998, 2014 by Biblica, Inc.®. Used by permission. All rights reserved worldwide. Hope that helps! Shane
shane Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Any possibility that Accordance is still looking into updating the NIrV offering? 🙏 (I use the NIrV often, and the digital resource availability for that particular translation is scarce)
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I haven't specifically heard, but I'm getting closer to starting Bible development, so might be one to put on my own list to consider.
