Peter Maddison
Hi there, hope you are all well. When copying a verse from an Accordance text at the end the copy includes a URL. As an example, like this: Quote https://accordance.bible/link/read/NAS95S#Acts_2:22 When I activate that URL, it lands me on an Accordance website which requires me to accept a redirect to open in my Accordance app. This begs the questions: 1) Have I configured something incorrectly? 2) Or is this the way the Accordance URL system is meant to work? 2) Is this something broken in Accordance, or something broken inside the Mac OS? 4) My understanding of the purpose of the custom URL system in Mac OS was to allow calls into a specific apps like Accordance. Is this correct? 5) Can this be rectified, as this is frustrating when creating teaching references for others, and detailed notes for myself? One of the nice things about being able to link directly into the app for others is the simplicity. When functioning as designed, this would encourage others to step into the Accordance world, so their own workflows run more smoothly. Thanks for you help, Kind regards, Peter
Dr. Nathan Parker
I wonder if this is one of macOS Privacy “features”. Tech Support might know, or another user might have some insight on it.
Silas Marrs
This is a setting in Export Preferences. There are two kinds of accordance URLs: accord://read/NAS95S#Acts_2:22 https://accordance.bible/link/read/NAS95S#Acts_2:22 The accord:// type open Accordance directly, and are almost always better. The https://accordance.bible/link/ Type exist because some types of programs only recognize http links. You can convert between the two kinds manually by swapping out the accord:// with the https://accordance.bible/link/ part. I believe https://accordancebible.com/link/ also works. All three types should go directly to the resource if clicked from within Accordance, such as in a user note.
