How to change the colour of a 'scripture' search in BDAG?

How do I change the colour of a 'Scripture' search in BDAG?

System: Windows 11, Accordance 14.0.4.

I did a BDAG search for τηρεω and wanted to find entries mentioning John.

It would be nice to see the entries stand out by colouring them (in this case) red so they're easy to find.

Edit -> Preferences -> Text Display doesn't seem to do this (see below).

I also looked at Display -> Set Tool Display, but didn't find a relevant colour selector there either.

It's probably something obvious that I've overlooked. Could someone please point it out to me?

Thank you.

  • Lawrence changed the title to How to change the colour of a 'scripture' search in BDAG?

Do you have “Include Reference When Amplifying from Text to Tool” checked in Amplify Preferences? If you do, if you Amplify to BDAG from a Greek text in John, it’ll highlight that passage with your “Search Highlighting” color.

I was not able to get this to work. I agree it would be a nice feature.

I only have a Mac, but it's working for me in 14.0.4.
Settings/Preferences—>ToolDisplay—>Search Highlighting is where you'll find the settings. If that's not working, then there's a bug in the Windows version of Accordance.

I am using an M1 MacBook Pro, and using Mark's search I see highlighting of the word and the Scripture references.

Just a question, did you check the plus and specify John? Just wondering if there is a difference in specific computers since some things seem to work for some people and not for others.

Feel free to give me a sample search to try, and if I can reproduce this issue, I’ll file a bug report.

Yes, I've ticked that box.

I've tried this out on another computer (also Windows 11) and it works there.

But on the PC where it doesn't work, unticking and re-ticking the box doesn't help.

That is, the behaviour seems to be persistent for each PC, but may be different for different PCs.

Perhaps it has something to do with preference-file corruption. Another possibility is a bug I've seen before in v.14 where the preferences are displayed correctly but the application ignores what the preference has been set to.
