Parallel Tabs only allowing one horizontal plane

When I click "add parallel," I'm only allowed to add from right to left. I cannot have anything below, which I at one time was able to do.

Let me visualize:

Right now I can only have

1 | 2 | 3 | 4

whereas in the past I used to be able to

1 | 2

----

  3

When I try to drag a window pane below, it does not allow me. Same for trying to drag above. I can reposition on the horizontal axis all I like, however.

Running Accordance 13.3.2 on MacOS 12.2.1

Under Preferences, General, is “Open Parallel tools and notes in vertical orientation” checked? That can force those panes to go vertical.

That was it! Thank you--so silly I didn't understand that check box.

Hi @Nathan Parker.  Do you have any other suggestions?  I tried getting a parallel tool to open horizontally below the other parallel text but it didn't work.  I can only parallel a tool vertically to the right or left not horizontally below.

You can try dragging and dropping the pane to see if it’ll go horizontal. Are you on a large screen? Sometimes large screens won’t shift stuff horizontally for quite a bit.

Hmmm, trying to think on this one. Maybe another user can chime in. Otherwise you can try emailing support.
