Makro for windows to automaticly insert Bible Verses?

Hello, is there a possibility to write a windows makro, so that you only have to write e.g. "John 3:16" to automaticly insert the Vers in the word document?

Would be an awesome add-in or Makro for windows word!

This feature used to be available in earlier versions of Accordance, but now I believe that the operating system on the Mac doesn't allow for such ("sandboxing").

There are some of the services that do work with Word. I use "Acc - Query Insert Verses NKJVS" (a script I modified to use the NKJVS) all the time. I am using the current version of Word (16.69), MacOS 13.1 Ventura and Accordance 14.0.3.

Of course, the question was about Windows.

There's also the get verses shortcut. I don't really understand macros but get verses works well (except they've never been able to get it working for evernote)

ctrl-alt-a will get you there and allow you to insert it in your document/powerpoint/what have you.

Did the global ⌘⌥a insert verses function stop working in macOS13? As far as I know, all of the Services Workflows still work, though.

And as for "they've never been able to get it working for evernote", the "they" would be the Evernote developers that aren't using standard api's.

I have had good luck with Get Verses in Evernote.  It does require one extra keystroke though.

After entering your reference in Get Verses and then pressing return or clicking on the "Insert in Evernote" button, nothing will happen.  Press com+v and your verse will paste into your note.

With Windows, what I have found...

If I am in Word and use the CTRL ALT A combo, it will cause a crash.

BUT

If I am clicked into Accordance, I can use the CTRL ALT A combo > Copy to clipboard and paste into Word

If I understand your request it is to be able to insert a Bible verse into a Microsoft Word document running in the Microsoft Windows environment. Is this correct?

There was such a tool for the Windows and Linux systems designed for LibreOffice and Microsoft Word that is still posted on the GitHub server that has not been updated since 2015. How many operating system upgrades have passed since then? Someone may remember something that worked but went away. This application accessed a web service for the verses. I pinged the site and it still seems to be active but this is an internet server and not Accordance. I attach some screen shots from the  LibreOffice site describing the application.

If you want Accordance to have a similar feature then I suggest writing out a clear description of exactly how your requirement would work and let the development team look at it for a possible future upgrade.

Did you see my comment above?

Does it crash if you use CTRL ALT A when you are clicked into Accordance?

Does it crash if you use CTRL ALT A while Word is the active window?

If the latter, yes, it causes a crash, and here is the log:

Not sure what to say except to report to support.

I've never had a crash with ctrl-alt-a on PC either in or out of the program.

I think I added this one for developers to look at, and it would be great for you to run this one by support tomorrow as well.

I can do either combination and it works fine without crashing. It really is kind of strange how different computers have different issues.

Click on the wrench icon on this page, and it’ll take you right to the email for them. There’s also a phone number on there if you need to call them:
