Michael J. Bolesta
I have been trying to learn some Biblical Aramaic. This has included listening to the recent series, "Daily Dose of Aramaic" [https://dailydoseofaramaic.com], then looking at the same verse in Accordance. When I listen to the verse using the module "Audio Reading of the Hebrew Bible by verse," it sounds like the person is speaking a Hebrew version rather than the Aramaic found in the HMT-W4. Is this true? Would someone knowledgeable of the language please clarify what is being read? Is it Aramaic or Hebrew? Thank you very much! The LORD bless you and keep you. JonathanHuber
I’m 99% certain there was a previous thread of people commenting that the Aramaic sections are actually being rendered in Hebrew, but I can’t find the thread now.
Michel Gilbert
Hi, Jonathan, You are correct, and I think you are referring to “What text is ‘Hebrew Audio - OT Verses’ reading from in Daniel?” at https://forums.accordancebible.com/topic/28398-what-text-is-hebrew-audio-ot-verses-reading-from-in-daniel/#comment-139463 Michel
Michael J. Bolesta
Thank you Jonathan and Michel. It is disappointing that the Aramaic is not read, but you answered my question. Daniel 2:4 is humorous. Michael
TYA
Brings back fond memories of my originally posting that question I love how smart everyone is here, and how such mysteries can be resolved when we work together.
