Error writing to Preferences

In order to allow the widget to find Accordance automatically, version 6.8 now writes a small text file in Library/Preferences every time it is launched. However, a user who is not an administrator cannot write to that folder, so gets an error message each time. This does not affect the funstion of Accordance.

 

To enable the widget to find Accordance, run it once as an administrator.

 

To prevent the error messages, give the user permission to modify the Library/Preferences folder.

 

We may change the location of that file in a future rev. We also plan to allow for multiple users at the same time, with their own settings. This will allow Accordance to be run by non-admin users even when it is in Applications. It will also allow for multiple users over a network.
