Who might be interested in an Accordance module of MAM?

 

Years ago, there was an internal project at OakTree to create such a module, but it was never completed.

 

Briefly, MAM is a "reader's edition" of the Hebrew Bible, such as might be used in Jewish study and worship.

 

This is in contrast to most digital editions of the Hebrew Bible, including Accordance's BHS-based modules.

 

Those editions are diplomatic editions (i.e. faithful transcriptions) of a particular medieval manuscript, the Leningrad Codex.

 

While the LC is a very important manuscript, faithful transcriptions of it are not well suited to general purpose use.

 

MAM is better suited to general purpose use.
