danzac Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I just received the Accordance newsletter, saw the great news about the page numbering module updates, and ran the check for updates. The blue progress bar gets about 2/3rds of the way complete, and then Accordance completely crashes. It disappears entirely, without even the standard "Accordance quit, choose Ignore or Report" dialogue popping up. I'm running 8.2.2.
jpkang Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I can verify this behavior, and I suspect we'll just need to wait a little bit for a fix.
Helen Brown Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 A user wrote to us with this problem, and found the unstuffed module in ~/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/AccordanceUpdates/ so there is some problem in Accordance moving the module from there to your Accordance folder: Modules: Tools, but this should work if you attempt that move yourselves. Can anyone tell me whether you had Waltke open when you tried the update? We'll certainly track this down for the next release of Accordance.
Tom Childers Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 For me, Accordance with the latest upgrades, loads and stays on the desktop for about two seconds and then disappears. However, I can load a stable session by opening any module from Finder.
Helen Brown Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Correction: this is a different issue and I'm checking it out right now. OK, we have found and corrected this problem. Please let me know if anyone has other issues like the moving of Waltke.

It disappears entirely, without even the standard "Accordance quit, choose Ignore or Report" dialogue popping up. I'm running 8.2.2. I'm running into the same problem as above using the Accordance "Check for Update" which returned yesterday an update to the ESVS. After installing the update, the version# still remains V.2.0 instead of V.2.1. Today I tried using the update again but the bar gets about 1/2 of the way and the whole program crashes. I am using Accordance V. 8.2.2. also. Anyone has this happened?
Helen Brown Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I think we have now corrected this issue. Please confirm.
Richard Labelle Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I think we have now corrected this issue. Please confirm. It now works. Thanks Helen, to you and all your team!
apologeticus Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 still doesn't work for me. it'll download the new version, but when it tries to install I get "error installing modules" the app doesn't crash, though. it simply won't update. running 10.5.6 on a unibody Macbook
apologeticus Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 here's what I see when trying to the 8.2.3 update http://img.skitch.com/20090511-e5966xankkfwumaxcegs1ityc9.png
Sean R. Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 As I had the same problem (unable to install program update from within Accordance), I manually downloaded and installed the Accordance update. http://www.accordancefiles1.com/products/8.2.3_install.dmg
Joel Brown Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 As I had the same problem (unable to install program update from within Accordance), I manually downloaded and installed the Accordance update. http://www.accordancefiles1.com/products/8.2.3_install.dmg We are very sorry, this has now been fixed. For those that it wasn't working (and haven't upgraded manually yet) does it work now?
David Voth Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I had the same error yesterday. The update worked for me now and didn't give me any problems.
