what is and how to use these functions?

I recently began to use Accordance on my iPad Pro 4th Gen with magic keyboard. While trying keyboard shortcuts, I found some shortcuts don’t work. Any idea how these work? What does “toggle” mean here?

The shortcuts that I tried to use were:

 

Toggle Secondary Pane: ctrl-shift-X

Toggle Secondary Tools: ctrl-shift-O

Toggle Secondary Notes: ctrl-shift-N

You need to go on 'more reply options' then you get these options to add screen shot. Choose first, then add file, though there is a file size limit which ipad screenshots frequently exceed so need to be edited or down sized  and i use the 'resize image' app which works fine.
