Can we get the devotional reading to stop auto-scrolling to top

Any time my iPad gets rotated (like setting it down and picking it up), the devotional loses it’s place and auto-scrolls to the very first verse of the day. This is really annoying. Been meaning for a long time to request a way to disable this, but there are more important features I’d rather have first. But seeing those don’t seem to be a development priority, maybe this will be low-hanging fruit and easily resolved.
