Kristin
To anyone who is familiar with the CNTTS, I am having some confusion concerning the meaning of "Lacunae." I know that Lacunae means that "the manuscript is not extant for this reading or passage," but I am unsure how it differs from OM (Omit, the base reading is omitted). Thank you for any help anyone can provide. Sincerely, Kristin
Brian W. Davidson
Lacunae means that the manuscript has a literal hole at that reading. Omit means that the manuscript isn’t damaged; it just doesn’t have the given word.

R. Mansfield
Lacunae means that the manuscript has a literal hole at that reading. Omit means that the manuscript isn’t damaged; it just doesn’t have the given word. That's a helpful distinction, Brian. So helpful in fact, I added as a note to my copy of the CNTTS.
