New Research Tab/Window

Recommended Posts

I just heard yesterday, during one of the webinars, that in version 13.05 you can use 'command R' to bring up a new research tab (they said it was the default shortcut set in preferences). However, when I did it, it brings up the set range box.

Thanks kindly!

The presenter does not use 'command R' for setting the range box, so he used the the Preferences—> Keyboard shortcuts to remove 'command R' from 'Define Range' (under Search Menu section) and then assign  it to 'New Research Tab' (under File Menu section).

You're correct that Command-R is currently the shortcut for setting a range. However, you can change Command-R to open a Research Tab instead by:

1) select "New Research Tab" in the Keyboard Shortcut preferences,

2) click "Modify Shortcut"

3) Enter the desired shortcut

4) Click "OK"
