Mark Parent
Hello, when I highlight greek or english text to amplify into diagrams i get the pop-up "there are no words to use in the selected text". I get this even if the context is set to zero. I'm using version 13.0.4 on Mac Thanks in advance for any input. Mark
Joel Brown
What method are you using to amplify to a diagram? A keyboard shortcut, using the toolbar? Perhaps you can record a video of the select-amplify-error sequence?
Mark Parent
Hi Joel, after I highlight the verse, I'm using menu/amplify/language/diagram. Thank you for your help. update: after I closed the pane with the morphological highlighting enabled, the text imported just fine into the diagram module. Even after I re-enabled the morphological highlighting [separate pane} the text import is still working. update: closed the app. restarted and everything works fine. Then I used the toggle off highlights function and a new problem now. Only the verse heading is importing. No text is importing and no pop-up. So I selected morphological highlights and re-created original problem of no text import at all, and the pop-up about the "there are no words to use in the selected text". Joel Brown
Thanks for the reply, Mark. I'm having trouble following what you are referring to: 1) What morphological highlighting are you referring to? How are you enabling or disabling it? 2) By import, do you mean amplifying to the diagram, or are you actually importing a new text or tool into Accordance? 3) What is this "toggle off highlights" function? Perhaps some screenshots or a movie would help clarify.
Mark Parent
Sorry Joel, I tried to do a movie (under 1Mb) from Quick Time Player, the only native screen video app on mac and Accordance Forum editor will not allow me to upload. It said I did not have permission to post that type (.mov) of file. 1. Anyways, the morphological highlighting is a highlighting file posted on the Accordance Exchange named "GNT Morph Color Tagging" under the highlights section, and was featured in a lighting the lamp podcast #171 to illustrate how to use highlighting along side diagraming. It only works with the NA28 texts. The "toggle highlights off/on" is also posted in the Accordance Exchange. Once they are dropped into the user/documents/accordance files/highlights file, it is listed as an option in the window/highlights/select highlight file on the menu bar on Mac. 2. By "import" I do mean amplifying to the diagram 3. the toggle highlights file from the Accordance Exchange toggles on/off any and all current highlights Iv'e tried again to reproduce the problem and it is very random. Joel Brown
Thanks for the movies, Mark. I'm still unable to reproduce it. Do you know how long this bug has been occurring for you? Are you able to find a consistent pattern to get it to occur, especially if that pattern starts with opening a fresh launch of Accordance?
Mark Parent
I haven't tried diagrams since version 10ish. With version 13, I thought I would try again to see if it would fit into my workflow. Quit app, restart app - right mouse button drag select entire greek verse and amplify to diagram, then select some of the greek text and move it down. Select some more text and move it down. then go back to multi text window and right mouse button drag select the next greek verse and amplify to diagram, and the "there are no words to use in the selected text" bug occurs. This will reproduce the bug every time for me.
