Concordance

A list of the Individual verses  is not showing up in the concordance

It is not displaying the entire search result like a printed concordance

Gordon, this seems to be working for me. Can you post an example of the search you are doing, and the results you are not getting?

I did a search on the word  "הִתְהַלֵּ֣ךְ"

All that shows up in the concordance is

הלך to walk, go  (12)
(common)

No list of verses shows up
------------------------------------------------------------------
The following search shows verses ref but not a display of verses
אַבְרָם Abram  (61)
Gen. 11:26-27, 29, 31; 12:1, 4-7, 9-10, 14, 16-18; 13:1-2, 4-5, 7-8, 12, 14, 18; 14:12-14, 19, 21-23; 15:1-3, 11-13, 18; 16:1-3, 5-6, 15-17:1; 17:3, 5; Neh. 9:7; 1 Chr. 1:27

Concordance results
בְּ in, at, with  (497)

אֶרֶץ land, earth  (497)

English searches seem to be working  but Hebrew searches are not working.

I think I see the issue, thanks for the report Gordon!

Gordon, after further inspection, this seems to be working correctly.  Let me clarify:

1) The concordance is separate from a search.  It does not concord your specific search results (which is somewhat redundant, since the results already display the verses!), but rather it concords those word locations everywhere.  So, for your search of הִתְהַלֵּ֣ךְ, occurring only in 12 verses, it concords the root lexical form הלך, which occurs in 1355 verses.

2) The concordance has specific 'thresholds' it uses to decide whether to show the verse, just the verse reference, or nothing at all.  You can customize this with a Ctrl+T in the concordance window, specifying the Display thresholds: 'Text excerpts' and 'References only'.  If the number of verses is below the threshold specified, it will display that content.  For example, if 'Text excerpts' is set to 50, then a concordance of less than 50 verses will show the entire verse, while greater than that would show just references, if below the 'References only' number.

Does this make sense?

Joel,

Thanks so much for your explanation.

Everything works fine now.

I had forgotten the control T and the need to change the number in the text excerpts box!
