Joel Brown Posted November 6, 2019 Share Posted November 6, 2019 "Always" is a strong word, such as if you are out of space. However, panes can default to open side by side if you check Preferences -> General -> Open parallel tools and notes in vertical orientation. Also remember that if a pane opens in the wrong orientation, you can always move it using its Gear menu: "Move Down" or "Move Up", or drag and drop it around. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
