It should indicate so just to the left of the Search Entry text box. If you're doing a flex search then searching for the word "go" will also return results that are related words, like "been". If you only want to see "go" then you should use a Word search. Edited October 23, 2019 by jarcher
mbcvida
I guess I am uncertain how 'been' (to be) is related to go? If I reverse the search and do a flex search for 'been', I do not get 'go' - [Flex] (4146 total words) Number of different forms = 8: (Triple-click a form to see its occurrences) go = 1210 went = 1175 been = 905 going = 293 Go = 251 gone = 207 goes = 111 Going =
Λύχνις Δαν
Dick, are you doing a "Flex" search or a "Word" search? It should indicate so just to the left of the Search Entry text box. While that's true, this case seems a little off. The usual thing is to handle cases where the forms are inflected from the same stem and so on. And yes it goes sideways in a number of ways. But this is a different verb. My guess is that if this is correct it is being done be "been" is being treated as some kind of auxilliary to "go" for things like past continuous, like "had been going", but then I don't search in English all that much and I'm thus not familiar with its quirks. I guess I am uncertain how 'been' (to be) is related to go? I can't do it right now where I am but that's where I would start. I agree it feels odd. Thx D

Yep. This is true I believe.
jarcher
You can also try: go <NOT> been
Λύχνις Δαν
Wouldn't that rather be go@-"been" ? thx D Edited October 23, 2019 by דָנִיאֶל

mbcvida
In NAS95S word = "been" is used 904x -- most of them reflecting a passive voice for a verb - still do not see the relation to the verbs for 'go' - I thought it might be a Strong's issue (NAS95S and ESVS) but also tried with NIV84, which is not based on Strong's numbers, and still received 'questionable' references - for ex. Matt 2.2,16 - still do not understand how these uses relate to 'go' - Searching for 'go' as a word does not find all the forms you do in a flex search (went, going, etc) - This is not a great issue for me, but more of a puzzle - as I was trying to highlight the ref's in John 14 to Jesus "going" and came across 14.9 - "have I been with you..."
