Has it significantly added to you understanding of the text? I might add that I already own a very fine collection of NT commentaries, some of them outstanding (a mixed bag of ZECNT, NAC, NICNT, WBC, NIGTC etc.). Solly Posted September 6, 2019 Share Posted September 6, 2019 Tomi, I have a collection of commentaries that match most of what you listed as well as other technical and expository commentary you did not list. I find the UBS NT Handbooks extremely useful, and I place them near the top of my goto set of commentaries. The discussion of concepts in the original language and issues translating that across cultures and languages is fascinating and instructive--for what we think is happening in our understanding of a passage may actually be quite complex and not easily communicated to a non-specialist or individual with an experience that is very unlike our own. This series has often given me pause to really stop and think about what I want to communicate and how to communicate an idea found within a passage.
