Cannot Alt-Delete whole words in verse search entry window

Throughout the Mac universe you can use Alt-Delete to delete whole words (rather than letter-by-letter).

 

But this does not work in the Accordance search entry window.

 

When I copy "Lk 12:48 See also Mt 12:36" into the search window and try to delete the words "See also" I should be able to do it with 2 Alt-Deletes.

 

But in fact nothing happens.

 

I know I can select the words and then press delete once and other ways of getting what I want, which is a workaround and not a solution.

 

It seems you have managed to cripple a fundamental capability of text handling on the Mac.
