drsdanderson
When the American Standard Version is displayed in parallel with the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia text, and BHS is the search text, sometimes verses in the ASV disappear when the verse numbering differs from BHS. When the ASV is made the search text, the verses reappear. I have included screenshots from Psalm 127 and Isaiah 64 to illustrate the problem. Helen Brown
This is the normal behavior. The primary text sets the verses to be displayed in parallel. However this has recently been improved so that the missing verses should appear in the parallel text. We will look into your examples.
Helen Brown
Psalm 127 the psalm title is included with v 1 in Hebrew, but it displays correctly in both directions for me (on a Mac). In Isaiah 64 the last verse of ch 63 splits into the first verse of ch 64. These are both cases where one verse in Hebrew matches 2 verses in translations. Joel Brown
I believe you are noticing the versification discrepancy because you typed "Isa 64:1" into the search area, with the Context slider below it set to 'A' (All). If you instead typed Isa 64, Isa, or even left it blank to show the entire text, it would have worked better. In general, consider the top search bar a way to specify which verses to display, while the box in the bottom right to jump to a point. Thus, if you are attempting to view the entire text, reading from Isaiah 64:1, its better to leave the top blank and just type it in the bottom right box. If you do this, do you notice a difference?
drsdanderson
Thanks for your replies. Typing a reference into the Go To box instead of the search entry box doesn't fix the missing verse problem. Even if I go to Isaiah 63:1 in BHS, when I scroll down Isaiah 64:1 is still missing in the parallel ASV text. I do have the latest content updates for these versions. Helen Brown
Joel intended for you to do this with nothing or * in the entry box, or the entire book you are reading, e.g. Isaiah. If it still is searching for Is 64.1, it won't pull up the missing parallel, though we may try to improve this. Turn your context slider to 0 and then display the full text. Helen Brown
So I see. But try with a search for the book: Isaiah. Thanks for the report. Our developers have now fixed this bug for the next update of Accordance.
drsdanderson
Yes, searching for the whole book of Isaiah does show all the verses. Thanks for fixing this bug!
Fabian
Mmh, I saw this bug earlier too and reported it in minimum 2 or 3 times. But great to hear it is fixed. But I have used the "Report a Correction" Greetings Fabian
Helen Brown
Report a Correction is for text errors, not a good means of reporting bugs.
