Abram K-J Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 I believe Russell Beatty and some others are doing Minor Prophets LXX in 2017--I'll see if I can point him to this thread! 2
Λύχνις Δαν Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 I know this isn't LXX, but when this came up earlier this year after we kicked around a few ideas I posted a reading plan for Luke, Hebrews and 2Corinthians to the exchange : http://www.accordancefiles1.com/exchange/downloads/LukeHeb2CorNA.zip. It's aimed at providing increasingly difficult material as the year progresses. It's what I plan to use from Jan 1 onwards. thx D
Ιακοβ Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Wait, so 2Corinthians is deemed more difficult than Hebrews?
Λύχνις Δαν Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Well I'm told more classical which will probably equate to more alien, thus to more difficult. Here's the thread where it was discussed https://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/19112-is-this-still-going/. Thankfully the GNT syntax charts are now complete. Tx D 1
Russell Beatty Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 We're doing the Minor Prophets and Daniel in 2017. I have a reading plan. I'm interested in the whole LXX in a year. Has anyone developed a reading plan for that? Here's the FB page for the reading group. I'll change the name before year's end. https://www.facebook.com/groups/724259411041009/ 1
Abram K-J Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 LXX in a year is ambitious! Even reading the OT in English (or whatever one's native language is) in a year is a time commitment. Kudos.
Russell Beatty Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Yeah, it's probably way too much. It would probably take 3 chapters per day to read it in a year. 1
Λύχνις Δαν Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Nonetheless I think it's a great goal to raise one's Greek to such a level as to make it possible. Thx D 1
Abram K-J Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Daniel, I agree about 2 Corinthians, by the way--I think the Greek there is some of the hardest (if not the hardest) in the GNT. It is all the more difficult due to the content of the letter itself--which is a challenge to work through even in my native tongue!
Λύχνις Δαν Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 So the last couple of months of the reading plan are going to be interesting then - eeek! 1
