macropod
Hi, I'm having trouble getting Accordance up & running since doing a complete rebuild of my Windows 7 System. It has all Windows updates applied, except for some MS telemetry updates I don't want. As part of the rebuild, I've installed Accordance 11.2.3. I'm currently logged on as the system Administrator. I've gone through the modules download phase and am now getting error messages when trying to install them, viz: Cannot complete an operation in the file "C:\ProgramData\Accordance\Modules\Tools\BK Commentary.atool", since that file is locked. Cannot complete an operation in the file "C:\ProgramData\Accordance\Modules\Tools\Creeds.atool", since that file is locked. Cannot complete an operation in the file "C:\ProgramData\Accordance\Modules\Tools\Eadie Commentary.atool", since that file is locked. Cannot complete an operation in the file "C:\ProgramData\Accordance\Modules\Tools\Easton.atool", since that file is locked. Cannot complete an operation in the file "C:\ProgramData\Accordance\Modules\Tools\Fourfold Gospel.atool", since that file is locked. Cannot complete an operation in the file "C:\ProgramData\Accordance\Modules\Tools\HALOT.atool", since that file is locked. etc. Once the installation concludes and I start Accordance, I find that some modules are missing. For example, the download includes the ESV bible (ESVS.zip) but that version isn't available in the list of bibles to choose from for either the default text or as a parallel text. Similarly, the JETS 2012 commentary series downloaded but apparently didn't install. Both files were downloaded to the C:\temp\AccordanceDownloads folder and were no longer there after the installation completed. The licence is for Accordance Ultimate, plus the Theological Journal library (~4.3 Gb of files in all). Any ideas? macropod
FWIW, I seem to have resolved the problem by re-running the data download & installation process a number of times. Curiously, the first time I tried this, Accordance reckoned I needed to download & install ~1.3Gb of files I'd already downloaded & installed on my first attempt. After downloading & installing the missing Theological Journal library files, it then reckoned I still needed to download & install ~1.5Gb of the Ultimate files! Evidently it 'lost' one of more additional files that had previously been installed. One of the problem files, a 480Mb file for Photoguide_3, needed three more attempts before it finally installed correctly. Strangely, the downloaded file size varied slightly on at least the last two attempts; the latter being smaller than the former...
