Ιακοβ
I wonder if anyone can confirm how well Accordance works with the fourth beta? I need to do the upgrade at some point, is Accordance stable enough to work ok in Beta 4 without too much difficulty (i don't mind an occasional crash)
R. Mansfield
Or perhaps the better question is this: Is Sierra stable enough for Accordance ;-) Seriously though, I'm interested in the question, too. Accordance is the only reason I'm not running Sierra. I had Sierra running briefly in beta 2 but went back to El Capitan.
Lester P. Bagley
I wonder if anyone can confirm how well Accordance works with the fourth beta? I need to do the upgrade at some point, is Accordance stable enough to work ok in Beta 4 without too much difficulty (i don't mind an occasional crash) There ARE some occasional crashes and those of us needing to work with the Beta are learning to tread carefully. One BIG still unresolved issue is Easy Install. If it doesn't work in your environment there's no work around and you get the typical vendor response of "we don't support the Beta OS. You only hope for downloading software you've purchased is to re-install a supported OS..." <Yes, I DO understand it's a headache for Accordance developers. But spend 30 plus years in the field and you'll learn to honestly despise both parties blaming the other. -- End of Rant > Just understand what you are getting into with early OS Betas and don't do it yet if you are not willing to put up with the hassles from both Apple and Accordance. Benjamin Gladd
I installed the public beta 3, and Accordance is still crashing quite a bit. Perhaps the next update will remedy this!
Ιακοβ
I installed the public beta 3, and Accordance is still crashing quite a bit. Perhaps the next update will remedy this! So you've not upgraded to beta 4 yet? It came out a few days ago. Assuming a september release, there may still be a beta 5 and 6. I wonder what you mean by "quite a bit", do you consider quite a bit, one crash per day, 10? Edited August 2, 2016 by Ιακοβ
Mark Allison
And I'm curious if the Atlas works in the current Beta.
Lester P. Bagley
The current Beta (16A270f) is the third public and parallels the current developer release. The "quite a bit" is more based on what your doing. Certain actions (like the Atlas and using Easy Install) cause a crash. Other actions, like scrolling, seem more dependent on what you are scrolling. Some have reported inline graphics as a cause. Most of the time Accordance produces a helpful crash log but not always. It's very much a work in progress all the way around. As for the Atlas, Mark, it is still one of the items that causes an immediate crash.
Benjamin Gladd
Yes, Accordance runs great with text-only modules. No problems there! It crashes "quite a bit" when I try to run easy install, open up models with graphics (Beale's Handbook, Mounce's Grammar, etc.). I appreciate all the hard work the Accordance team puts into their software. In all my classes, I use Accordance while teaching, and most of my students use it as well.
cnorwood00
I have the latest beta version of Sierra running on a MacBook Pro. Accordance still crashes with Atlas and some modules that include images. The Easy Install has been hit or miss. I used it on public beta 2 of Sierra to download a new modules and update existing modules. But Easy Install has crashed many times on me. In testing Sierra and iOS, it seems to me that we are getting really close to a Gold Master. Sierra Public Beta 3 seems much snappier than previous betas. I am running into less and less problems on iOS also. I thinking a Gold Master for Sierra is coming by late August.
Joel Brown
We've made available a beta version of 11.2.4, that among other things, should fix the Sierra crashing: https://accordancefiles1.com/public/Accordance_11.2.4b1.dmg Please let us know how it goes, and if you experience any other problems!
