Dr. Nathan Parker
I recently moved to a Dell Windows Workstation as my primary day-to-day machine after ten years on the Mac (and I have one powerful workstation with Accordance running blazingly fast on it!). However, I'm experiencing a couple of bugs, plus I had some "getting started" questions I wanted to ask: Version of Accordance is 11.2.1 on WIndows 10 Pro. 1. My User Tools stored in Dropbox are not syncing with Accordance on WIndows. All my other data from Dropbox is syncing with Accordance for Windows, and I have Accordance set to sync everything automatically. Dropbox also has User Tools in them, but they simply are not downloading to Accordance when a sync runs, and no error message is given. What do I need to do to resolve this issue? 2. I can't find any "Speech" settings in preferences like I can on Accordance for Mac. Has this feature not come over yet? Just making sure this isn't something I'm overlooking. 3. Can I bring over my workspaces from Accordance for Mac, as well as can I bring over session files containing diagrams from Accordance for Mac, or are those tied to Accordance for Mac only? 4. Can I bring over my User Bibles from Accordance for Mac, and where is the Texts folder stored on Accordance for Windows (I'm still trying to get used to Windows)? 5. Can I bring over my Custom Search Ranges file Mark Allison put together, and where do I need to install it at on Accordance for Windows? Two biggest things I'm having to get used to are: placement of the CTRL key (my fingers are so used to the Command key) and the fact that Accordance for WIndows places the close buttons and pane enlarge buttons on the opposite sides (this makes perfect sense due to WIndows' control conventions, but I find myself clicking the wrong buttons). I'll get the hang of it though. :-) Thanks!
Helen Brown
I think you will appreciate your Mac more and more as you work with Windows, good luck! You can bring over the files in question. Make sure they have the suffix, or add it. The locations of the files in Windows are: You can click on user Bibles to open and add them to Accordance, the same with User Notes and User ToolsAccordance files: C:\Users\[user name]\My Documents\Accordance Files (if you want to add workspaces) Some of the locations are invisible so you have the enter the location in the address bar. Dr. Nathan Parker
Sounds good. Thanks for the info. Is the Speech feature not in Accordance for Windows yet? I'm not seeing that option in Preferences. Also, what would cause Accordance for Windows to not sync my User Tools from Dropbox? There are User Tools stored in Dropbox, and User Tools is checked in Accordance for Windows to sync them and set to automatically sync, but when the sync happens, they simply don't download without any error message appearing. Helen Brown
No, speech is not implemented on Windows. I think Dropbox syncing for user materials should be, but I don't get into that side of things.
Dr. Nathan Parker
Thanks for the info. I'll file a ticket with Accordance Support and see what's up with Dropbox syncing. Not sure what's going on there.
Michel Gilbert
Helen said, "Some of the locations are invisible so you have to enter the location in the address bar." You don’t have to do this. In File Explorer click View, and make sure Hidden items is checked [Edited: Quoting "Helen Brown said" didn't work, so I put it in quotations] Edited July 4, 2016 by Michel Gilbert
