Gedalya
When I Search for סֶמֶל in the Hebrew text, I get 5 results. Kohlenberger Mounce reports 5 results The JPSS only produces 4 results and leaves out 2 Chr. 33:7. All the other translations listed in Kohlenberger/Mounce show the same 5 results
Ken Simpson
Hi Gordon, I think that’s because JPSS does not translate סֶמֶל, it used the demonstrative pronoun (that) rather than repeat the (somewhat) homologous סֶמֶל following פֶּ֥סֶל. I think it’s just a transition decision they have made, and because there is no word directly translating סֶמֶל then there is no appropriate keyed word in the JPSS. That’s my guess anyway.
