dwhunter
Are there any plans to add some of the newer translations to Accordance, like the Modern English Version, the Passion Translation, the International Standard Version, the Mirror Bible, etc.? I'm curious because most of those are available on Olivetree now. I would much prefer to use them with Accordance, but if there are no plans to add any of them in the next few months, then I would like to know that. I'm curious because there have been a couple of resources that I have made the mistake in the past of purchasing on Olivetree because they weren't available on Accordance, only to find them offered as "new" products on Accordance 6-8 months later. I'm also curious as to why sometimes items aren't offered as soon on Accordance as they are on some other eBible platforms. Any help? Thanks! Rick Bennett
As of now, none of those Bible translations are planned. As far as when titles appear on Accordance, or other platforms, there are various reasons for that. Sometimes we have something first (or even exclusively), and other times it takes us longer, or we choose not to pursue a title that others might have. We're happy to answer questions here, but do not typically announce releases until they are near completion or ready for sale. I hope this helps. jeremyduncan
I have made the mistake in the past of purchasing on Olivetree because they weren't available on Accordance, only to find them offered as "new" products on Accordance 6-8 months later. This is one of the downsides of Accordance, as a smaller company they are often much slower in acquiring and developing resources. Personally, since I much prefer the Accordance software I wait as long as possible before purchasing resources through alternative sources since often I don't need new resources immediately. Sometimes though (especially newer commentary volumes for sets I own in Accordance) I will buy them elsewhere, which unfortunately, makes the economic case for keeping Accordance sets up to date less viable. At least there are multiple platforms out there each with their own strengths Edited July 9, 2015 by jeremyduncan
Joe Weaks
My experience is not this. Seems to me Accordance acquires newest popular versions quite quickly. For instance, the CEB and the NIV2011 update came immediately as soon as the analog versions hit the shelves in my recollection. It very well may be the case that a larger company can spend resources on more obscure translations more quickly.
jeremyduncan
My guess is it would be hard to have a viable Bible software platform if you didn't have the major English translations available fairly quickly

Daniel Francis
I looked at the ISV and the MEV.... Both are ok translations.... but I will say in the case of the MEV I do not see enough variation from the NKJV to view it as all that needed. In fact the MEV seems less well annotated than the NKJV and at least the copy I looked at seemed to lack the formatting hints found there (italics to show words that are helper words). -Dan
wsgibson
I would like to have the MEV translation available in Accordance. Scott
Garrett
Accordance does seem to get the more important things out before others. I had NA28 and its apparatus on Accordance LONG before my peers using other software. As for UBS5, it seems like nobody has the apparatus yet.
