Clint Cozier
I take most of my exegetical notes in a competing product which has had wonderful hyperlinking ability for quite some time. I do have some resources in Accordance that I don't have in the competing product. My normal workflow is just to copy and paste the relevant entry into the note in the competing product. I would much rather have a hyperlink so that I can summarize then click to see details. I know create a link that opens a particular reference work to a particular entry, or pass in a query. What I want to do is link to a specific section in a specific book (for example, a particular section in the new PhotoGuide 4). Can I do that? I'm running the latest release of Accordance 11 on a MBP. Thanks. Edited January 27, 2015 by Clint Cozier
Joel Brown
In Accordance 11.0.4 you can add another element to your link for a paragraph number in a tool, or a verse reference in a search. So, you could use, for example: accord://read/PhotoGuide_4#2277
Timothy Jenney
Note that Joel is referring to User Tools, not User Notes. At present, User Notes only support Scripture hypertext links. User Tools, on the other hand, support a rich variety of links: http://file:///Applications/Accordance%2011.app/Contents/Resources/Accordance%20Help/Default.htm#topics/05_dd/create_links_in_user_tools.htm#kanchor403
Joel Brown
I believe Clint is trying to create links in the other product, but he can correct me if I'm wrong.
Fabian
Hello Joel and Dr. J. Whats the trick to let it work in Word11? In TextEdit, Pages etc. it works. Greetings Fabian Edited January 27, 2015 by Fabian
Clint Cozier
I am trying to hyperlink to a section in an Accordance resource (Photoguide 4 for example) from Logos 6. Joel, I tried accord://read/PhotoGuide_4#2277 as a hyperlink in a Logos note and it didn't do anything even with Accordance open.
Joel Brown
Logos may not be able to handle URL links like that, you'll have to see their documentation. If you paste that link into a Web Browser it should work if you have PhotoGuide 4 installed, and Accordance 11.0.4 installed.
Timothy Jenney
Fabian, I can't get the link to work in Word either. Grrr. MS Word always seems to be the odd one out in the bunch. Maybe the new version they have coming to Mac (finally!) will be more compliant. (fingers crossed)
Clint Cozier
Works in Safari. I'll poke around in the Logos documentation. Thanks.
Ruben Gomez
Clint, I just used accord://read/PhotoGuide_4#174 and accord://read/NVI (this is a Spanish Bible, you may use any Bible/Tool you like) in a Logos 6 note and it worked fine. You have to select the url and enable it as a link. Afterwards, when you right click and choose "Open Hyperlink" in the context menu, Accordance opens to that particular place (if it's not already open). PS. I cannot get MS Word to work either...
