cwvonaccordance
Hi, What I am trying to do is to list number of Hebrew words in each verse in Isaiah. Is there any way to do it in Accordance? For example, Isa 1:1, 16 words; 1:2, 13 words, etc. Thanks in advance!
Helen Brown
No, I am sorry, but this has not been requested as a feature of Accordance. You can get a word count per chapter and a verse count per chapter (by searching for * and opening the Table in the Analytics menu) but there is no way to get an automated word count per verse. cwvonaccordance
Thank you Helen. Is it possible to request it as a feature?
Timothy Jenney
OK, you've got me curious. What would one do with a word count by verse in Isaiah?
cwvonaccordance
Well. I am working on a research paper to compare the Great Isaiah Scroll with the Masoretic Text. Part of the research has to do with detailed analysis of the variant readings between the two manuscripts. We would like to have a word count (by verse) and the percentage of variants in Masoretic Text.
Timothy Jenney
That's a very cool project! I'd be interested in reading your paper when it is completed.
