Matt Fredenburg Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Starting state: I clicked next to the 'A' of "1. As for the truth..." and dragged downwards. This screenshot shows where I had dragged to when Accordance stopped responding and then ultimately crashed: I verified that if I click at the same starting point, then drag the cursor box down and then shift-click, I am able to select the same amount of text (and in fact, more text) and copy it successfully, so this has something to do with the click/drag operation. Matt
Steven van der Hoeven Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Crashed multiple times today on selecting text.
Orly Margolis Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 This problem should be fixed in 10.3.2
Matt Fredenburg Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 This problem should be fixed in 10.3.2 Hi Orly, did you mean to say 10.3.3? Thanks, Matt
Matt Fredenburg Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 This bug still exists in 10.3.3. One thing seems different in that Accordance doesn't hang prior to crashing, but simply vanishes now once I have scroll-selected 'too much' whereas in 10.3.2 it would hang for a bit prior to disappearing. Matt
apohlman Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I've been having many of the same text selecting causing crashing issues from 10.3.1 all the way to the current update. I was told by tech support that the phenomenon is not being produced by other users so there is nothing they can do to help me. It hangs and/or crashes nearly every time I select text, forcing me to restart the program every 5 minutes. I'm getting desperate for a fix as I've spent a lot of money and have a lot of research to do with a system I spend more time restarting than researching.
Joel Brown Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 We are very sorry about your problems, and we are currently revamping how dragging to select works. In the meantime, if you click and then shift-click, you should be able to reliably make selections.

Do you know if highlighting is tied into selecting text? Often times when I am finally successful in selecting text, choosing a highlight for it crashes the program instantly.
KenM Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I have the same problem with highlighting. The program crashes instantly about 50% of the time when a try to highlight text.
thurow37 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Thanks Joel. Looking forward to the update making my research less stressful. Do you know if highlighting is tied into selecting text? Often times when I am finally successful in selecting text, choosing a highlight for it crashes the program instantly. I am having the exact same issue as you all (in regards to the highlighting). Can get frustrating (practicing that patience and other virtues and fruits of the SPIRIT, for sure). I'm on version 10.3.4.3. Are you still having the issue now?
