Darin Allen Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I ran a key number search for [H7307], but my analytics are also returning a single result for key number H7114. Any idea why?
Ken Simpson Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Looks to me like a case of one english word picking the meaning of 2 hebrew words from Job 21 and Micah 2. The translation is "impatient" in the ESV, but is translates "an impatient spirit" in the Hebrew הֲקָצַר֙ ר֣וּחַ The standard analysis is showing more that just those two keys - I wonder why they don't show up in the bar?
Darin Allen Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 Thanks, Ken! It just seems weird that an explicit search for a single key number would randomly return a result for a completely different key number. Does anyone know if this a common occurrence when searching with key numbers, or is this more of an isolated example? I ask because I'm teaching an online training session on using key numbers tomorrow, and I want to be able to effectively communicate the strengths and limitations of using key numbers. If this is something that people might come across on a regular basis, I want to give them a heads up.
Ken Simpson Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 (edited) Hi Darren, yes it is strange, but reasonable common. I did a couple of random searches - try and of these keys [KEY H0014] [KEY H0006] [KEY H0001] [KEY H0041] [KEY H0047] for just a few. to just name a few....I must admit it is a little counter-intuitive, But that usually means I haven't understood the reason for doing it that way. Helen Brown Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 You may simply be getting the other Key numbers attached to these words. Many word translate a phrase, and so have two numbers attached, and this shows up in the Analysis of the hits.
