Rikk Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 If I enter e.g. Exod 10-12 in search pane displayed text starts at ch 10 as requested but runs on past ch. 12, past the end of the book, the OT, all the way to the end of Rev 21. Running OS 10.8.4 on 15" rMBP 16/760 SSD. Tks
Joel Brown Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Are you sure your context slider isn't set to 'A' for all? I just tried this, and it works as expected. With no context, I get just 10-12, with All context I get the entire text, just scrolled to Exodus 10.
Julia Falling Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Go to Accordance Prefs > Search Tabs and make sure "Add automatic context" is not checked.
Rikk Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 Oops... that's the problem.. thanks so much ...
Joel Brown Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 For the record, Rikk, I personally like to keep Automatic Context on. Most of the time, it gives me the context I want. For the times it doesn't, I easily slide the slider back to the left. But, its a preference, so whatever your preference
Randy Steffens Jr Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I find some things about "Automatic Context" seem counterintuitive or inconsistent. For instance, the search John 1:14,15 displays only the searched-for verses. Whereas the search John 1:14-15 displays the entire Bible. Is this a bug? Or is Automatic Context meant to behave this way? It would make more sense for both searches to display the same results. I think it would make more sense when searching for a range of hyphenated verses/chapters (like Ex 10-12), to show only only the range requested. And to display context when only 1 text or chapter reference is searched for. Randy
