Abram K-J
Hi, all, I couldn't find anything in the forums along these lines, so please forgive if this is in the wrong place. If there are any users of the Göttingen Septuagint, I've just put together part of a short primer on how to use and understand the Göttingen Septuagint (at least, how I've been using and understanding it!). This post specifically has the print edition in view, but I expect there will be some overlap with Göttingen as presented in Accordance. How to Read and Understand the Göttingen Septuagint: A Short Primer, part 1 Peace, Abram K-J
Abram K-J
Here's part 2, dealing with the First Critical Apparatus: How to Read and Understand the Göttingen Septuagint: A Short Primer, part 2 (Apparatus) I was glad to see Accordance release a few more volumes recently... would love to see the rest come to completion, and perhaps even some discounted price for buying all of Göttingen together (as currently exists, for example, for the Pentateuch).
tebel
I am sure that users of the Göttingen Septuagint will find this most helpful. Many thanks. rari
Jonathan C. This sentiment/hope echoes mine exactly! Since the Göttingen project appears to be all but stalled for the foreseeable future, I would like to see all published vols made available in Accordance and offered for a bulk price competitive to the Logos pricing. If so, I would pick up this resource in a heartbeat.
Anon
I cannot comment on the price—not my department—but I can say that Göttingen LXX is actively under production.
Rick Bennett
This sentiment/hope echoes mine exactly! Since the Göttingen project appears to be all but stalled for the foreseeable future, I would like to see all published vols made available in Accordance and offered for a bulk price competitive to the Logos pricing. If so, I would pick up this resource in a heartbeat. We did slow development of this project, but we have not forgot about it. We just released a couple smaller volumes, and plan to pick up the pace to finish the series as soon as possible. But, keep in mind the process of digitizing this is very laborious. Traditional methods of OCR do not work accurately with this resource, which means we have to enter much of it manually (at least introductions and apparatus). Then, as you know tag the Greek text. The cost of production on this project will likely never be covered in sales, but we are committed to finishing the series (i.e., what is available in print), producing a 'research-grade' final product. For those that have been around a while, I think you know we always do our best to take care of everyone and offer the most competitive pricing we can, which includes discounts on purchasing a larger number of items, especially in series. We'll see what that looks like in the future for Göttingen. I hope this helps… Edited January 14, 2013 by Rick Bennett

Abram K-J
My pleasure! Thanks for the clarification and update on the project, Rick. I know there are many who appreciate that you all will see the project to completion, even if it's not a huge earner for you financially. (Though I hope it is that anyway!)
