Stuart Robertson
I've run into this issue a few times over the weekend with various searches and thought I was doing something wrong (once I was searching ESV but displaying NASB95). However, this morning I became convinced there is a bug here. Try the following: Open a new search window, switch to "word search" and enter "to be saved" (without quotes). Hit <enter>. I get two results (2 Thess 2:13, 1 Tim 2:4). Acts 16:30 should also be in the list. Switch search window to "verse" mode and enter Acts 16:30 Select the text "to be saved", right-click and select Search For -> Word. The same results as above appear (missing Acts 16:30). Interestingly searching for "to be <AND> saved" (without quotes) finds Acts 16:30. I should add this is using Accordance 9.5.2 on OS X Lion 10.7.
Helen Brown
Apparently the superscript letter w is interfering with the phrase search. Obviously it shouldn't do that, it is a bug, and we'll look into it.

mbcvida
I found the same problem with the ESVS, but not with the ESV
Scott Knapp
Interestingly enough, the search seems to work correctly in the iOS app using the ESVi module (iOS only version of ESVS).
