I keep getting this error when i define a search range with multiple verses " There are extra characters after the end of the verse reference.

This has worked before not sure why it is not working now but when i put all the verses of Jesus speaking in the gospels i get this notification.

I have no clue why this error message is coming up. In my opinion another one should come up.

 

The problem I see is the European verse notation (with comma and dot) and the American one in the Bible (with colon and comma), that doesn't match in Accordance. BTW this is a general problem in Accordance. If I have set it to European notation and I hover over a verse ref on a website the in the built in browser then it isn't recognized. Maybe Accordance should have a logic to see if the European or the American notation is used and choose then the one which is appropriate.

 

So either you do change the preferences to the European or you do change the search range style. 

To change from the European to the American notation. Copy the search range to a word editor. First change the comma to colon and then the dot to comma. Not in the opposite order. Copy it and overwrite the one in the search range by paste.

 

If you want the European back, then first change the comma to dot and then the colon to comma.

I'm not sure if this is my adding to the search range or if it is yours, as I have taken yours and added mine. But I guess it is my mistake, that I don't have changed the notification style.

I tried the Range feature for this, using the "Red Letter references" file in the Accordance exchange and got the same notification as you. I was surprised, as I had used this in the past on another computer. Looking more closely at my older file, I see that I had changed the American reference style (i.e. Gen. 1:1,2,3, etc.) to European (Gen 1,1.2.3) that worked. So try copying the following and pasting it into your search window. I hope it works for you:
