Alistair
I am trying to choose a custom background colour for texts and tools but it isn't working properly. I choose a very pale shade of the colour I want, but the one I end up with is much deeper/darker/more saturated.

Helen Brown
Please tell us which version of Accordance and which system you are using.
Joel Brown
Alistair, this is an interesting phenomenon. Apple seems to be providing inaccurate color reproductions within their interface. Consider the screenshot: The sliders are set to RGB(255, 240, 254), but if you use a color analysis, the satchel is displaying RGB(255, 244, 254). This is a subtle, but noticeable difference. Unfortunately, we cannot do anything about this, since all we know are the raw values chosen (255, 240, 254 in this case). If you really need to be particular, choose the color in an accurate color picker, like Photoshop, and enter the RGB values into the color picker directly. Alistair
Thanks Joel. Yes, it is interesting. I haven't noticed any discrepancies with the Apple colour Picker in any software. Hmm… Time to dig out the old Pantone swatches. Helen, I'm using the latest version of everything possible. Joel Brown
I believe the same issue is present in even the TextEdit color picker. However, I am running 10.9, perhaps they improved it in El Capitan.
Alistair
I vaguely remember having this issue with Accordance under Yosemite
