Scott Knapp Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Run a word search in NIV for the word: Eve. Result is 4 hits. Then change the search range via the contextual menu to New Testament and try to run the search again. Nothing changes. I suspect it is because the search doesn't get "dirtied". I have to retype the word Eve again to re-run the search to get the search hits limited to the 2 NT verses. And there appears to be no indication that the search range has been altered. The hits string has not changed, nor has the contextual menu item been selected. Scott.
HansK Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I cannot confirm this behavior. Tested myself with 3 different translations.
Scott Knapp Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Hmm. Looks like using the explicit conditions UI does work. Choosing "New Testament" from the Ranges menu will dirty the search and hitting return will run it correctly. But using the contextual menu UI with the explicit conditions area hidden will not dirty the search and only editing the word will get the conditions to update properly. Scott.
HansK Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Scott, now I do understand you I can confirm this error when using the contextual menu.

Defining the range via contextual menu only works after re-running the search (enter a space, etc.), and even then there is no indication that a range has been defined.
