Martin
Hi, Does Accordance indicate whether any Greek verbs are deponent and in which tenses? I was hoping this might be included in the instant details box but have not found this. Thanks, Martin
Helen Brown
Martin: There is no specific tag for deponency. Actually the experts do not always agree which verbs are deponent, but our tagging follows BDAG and Liddell & Scott. The only way to see deponency in the texts is to observe the lemma. If the LEMMA is a middle form, such as ercomai then any middle form is deponent. If the lemma is an active form, then any middle form is a true middle.
