BJ Schultz
Hello, It seems that I read somewhere that I can add my own Bible translation or commentary. I am a missionary in Tanzania and we use the Swahili Bible. I have the whole bible in plain text format and would really like to have it in my accordance software. Any suggestions as to how I can do this? I am attaching the .txt file of the scriptures in case anyone can help me. Thanks! Helen Brown
If you have Accordance 8 you can read the Help section on User Bibles under Doing your own Thing. There are instructions for how to prepare and import the text. Let us know if you have problems.
BJ Schultz
Thank you Helen for the direction. The help file was very helpful and concise. I would like to add this for anyone who attempts to do this. When you name your books do not leave a space between 1 and Samuel. Accordance does not like it and will tell you that there is an error in Ruth. Took me awhile to figure that one out. Example: Correct: 1Samuel 1:1 -NOT- 1 Samuel 1:1 The only problem I have is that the Bible I added is in Swahili. I had to rename all the books of the Bible in English. There has to be a work around for this since Accordance has Bible Modules in other languages too. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Now it is possible to have the original Bible book names, IF they are only in Latin letters. Unicode is still not supported.

Fabian
I think I have Accordance 8 on CD. I could try loading it into an old Snow Leopard computer! This is not necessary. It is online now in the Help files and in the Help of Accordance. Since then some improvements are released. But I hope Accordance catch up with Logos with the possibilities to import user content.
