Rabbinics: Major Upgrades

Recommended Posts

The four rabbinic commentaries on Biblical passages (Mekhilta, Sifra, Sifre-Debarim, Sifre-BeMidbar) have been reissued with significant, free, improvements. Each text now has paragraph markers with each pisqa, so that when the text is displayed by paragraph, the entire pisqa is one section. As before, these modules can be displayed and scroll in parallel with the Biblical text.

A second module has been added for each text, with -P added to the name. These modules are organized by rabbinic reference, with the biblical reference highlighted in blue with square brackets. Each parasha is treated as a separate book followed by the number, and can be searched by reference in the same way as a biblical reference. These modules allow the user to search for the parasha or pisqa, but they do not scroll with the Biblical text.

The changes and referencing system for each module are discussed in the accompanying Read Me file (in the ReadMes folder).

In order to install the addtional modules, please download the new installers. No code is needed if the primary module is already installed.

Future developments in this field include the addition of the missing sections of Sifra and Sifre Debarim, and the release of Talmud Babli.
