laflauta Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Can someone please let me know how to search for every verse in the NT that ends with a particular word? I need to find all verses (I believe there are more than one) that end with the word γαρ. Thank you in advance, Charles.
darrylmy Posted January 9 Posted January 9 (edited) @laflauta you can accomplish what you are trying to do with the following search: γαρ <WITHIN 1 Words> [FIELD END] Hope that helps. Edit: Forgot to mention that the search condition 'Scope' has to be set to 'Verse' Edited January 9 by darrylmy 2 3
Kristin Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Hi @darrylmy, That is really interesting. I had thought there wasn't a way to do that.
darrylmy Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Hi @Kristin, yeah, Accordance is really great for OL research as you know, which is why I'm still hanging on to hope that they will turn this ship around. 3
Ken Simpson Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Just a note to add to this. FIELD begin and FIELD end relate to the Scope set in the Scope drop down in the search bar. Brings up some different search possibilities. 2
laflauta Posted Monday at 07:46 PM Author Posted Monday at 07:46 PM Thank you for the suggestion. It did fine John 13:13; however, oddly, it didn't find Mark 16.8. (I also thought there was one in Matthew, but I might be mistaken.)

(I also thought there was one in Matthew, but I might be mistaken.) This is because the default search is set to a word within a verse. In N-A, Mk 16:8 continues on after ἐφοβοῦντο γάρ. What you want to do is set the "Scope" limit "Sentence". This will give you Mk 16:8 and a few more: Edited Tuesday at 09:45 AM by Donald Cobb 4
