Asking for a better way to deal with links to "missing" verses

If this would be better put in a different sub forum, please feel free to move it.  The short version is that I wish Accordance had a better way of dealing with links to verses that are (for text critical reasons) not included in many more recent translations.  Currently, they often don't work at all, leading to the user (at least this user) assuming something is wrong with Accordance or at least the module they are using.  Case in point:

Today I was working with the Exhaustive Cross References Tool, looking at Cross References to Amos 8:4.  One of those Cross References is Matthew 23:14.  When I clicked on the reference, a text tab opened, as it should, but it was blank.  See screen shot below.  Note that:

-the black tab says "Text (CEB (parallel texts)); this is the "Alternate text" in the Display>Set Text Pane Display (aka command-T) dialog.  The (Main) Text setting is CEB, which it should be pulling from since the reference is to Matthew.

-The Instant Details shows Matthew 23:13-15, in other words, if one is not paying precise attention, it appear to be working.

I was mid-way through a detailed "report a correction" email before it occurred to me that the issue might be that Matthew 23:14 is one of those verses that does not appear in the oldest/best manuscripts.  Sure enough, when I opened a separate Text tab and set it to Matthew 23, verse 14 was missing.  (As it is in the Instant Details, something I failed to note).  In the CEB, there is a footnote at the end of 23:13 that states: "u Most critical editions of the Gk New Testament omit 23:14 How terrible it will be for you legal experts and Pharisees! Hypocrites! You eat up widows’ houses and make a show of praying long prayers. Therefore, you will receive greater judgment."

I really wish that clicking the link worked the way that the ID box worked in this case: showing the verses before and after.  (Note that while the "show all text" box is unchecked here, checking it does not show Matthew 23, instead, it shows Esther!. Furthermore, originally the same tab was recycling through the various verse references I was clicking, and that box was set to show all text; it only unchecked when I clicked on the Matt reference.)

Alternatively, some sort of warning box that the reference could not be found, ideally with a hint that it might be a text critical issue, would be helpful.

One more alternative option:  a "third tier" alternate text option in the Set Text Display dialog.  I realized as I worked on this post that if my alternate text had been the KJVS, Matthew 23:14 would have shown up. But I'm not sure I want that as my regular alternate text.  (Although I'm not sure CEB parallels is the best choice, either)
