Gary Raynor
There is an unprintable character replacing the Hey in Job 41:2 and 41:26 (10 and 34 in the English) This has an effect of inserting a carriage return and reading instead וא of הוא .. Copied to and pasted into Word it becomes Job 41:2 לֹֽא־אַ֭כְזָר כִּ֣י יְעוּרֶ֑נּוּ וּמִ֥י ֝֗וּא לְפָנַ֥י יִתְיַצָּֽב׃ with an unreadable character
Dr. Nathan Parker
Thanks! Use Report Corrections in the software and attach this forum thread to it. Our Module Developers will need to see it.

Gary Raynor
The current module of HMT-W4 (3.1) is infected with non-Hebrew/Yehudit characters - can this version be withdrawn and a previous version reinstated? I am reporting them as I find them one by one or two by two as I read through the Tanach.
Dr. Nathan Parker
I'll report this to our module developers.
Iconoclaste
Thanks for reporting this, Gary. The way that HMT-W4 is currently built makes it prone to bugs and it is tedious to fix, unfortunately. Soon, I will change the way that it is built so as to reduce the possibility of this happening and make it much faster to fix reported errors. In the two example verses you gave, it is in a word that has a revia mugrash. I searched for the revia mugrash and found 21 more instances of this bug in the sifrei emet. Do you have any other examples that don’t have to do with this cantillation mark? Lord willing, we can issue an update this week and we apologize for causing the error. 3

Iconoclaste
Thanks, Gary. I had spotted all of the errors in a word with rebia mugrash except for Psalm 68:29, so thanks for that list. To your two bad words with galgal, I also add Psalm 4:7. Most unfortunately, I must push off the resolution of this issue to next month or December due to factors beyond my control. I greatly apologize, but I assure you it is on high on my to-do list. Edit: strikethrough In the meantime, if any more errors of this type (split words; missing letters; substitutions of letter with number) are spotted by any user of the HMT-W4 (a.k.a. “Hebrew Bible (Biblica Hebraica) Tagged”) module, please post them here. Iconoclaste
Scratch that previous comment. I believe I have correctly gone through the necessary steps for HMT-W4 to return to version 2.2, which was using the Westminster Hebrew Morphology version 4.20. I have never released an update “backwards” to a previous version, so it may not work as expected. Changes in version number usually take effect within 24 hrs. What I expect is for an update to become available within that time and be listed from the window that displays when selecting “Check for content updates...” from the Accordance menu (on a Mac) or the Utilities menu (on a PC) allowing you to “update” to version 2.2. If what I expect is incorrect, then instead you will have to delete the module: Open your Accordance Library Right click on “Hebrew Bible (Biblica Hebraica) Tagged“ and select “Remove Item”. There should be a dialogue box that appears asking whether you want to “keep it in the Accordance folder?”: select “Move To Trash”. Restart Accordance and open Easy Install. It should install version 2.2. Deleting a module from your library does not normally delete user notes or highlights for that module. Right now it is the afternoon EST, so to be safe, please wait until Wednesday to try this out. Let me know then if this works or not. That said, I still want to change the way we process this module to build it so that it is easier to debug and hopefully avoids these kinds of issues in the future. It’s also important that we are able to easily keep up with the most recent release of the W morphology, which is currently not the case.

Accordance Enthusiast
Thanks for noting these. I'm hoping that they will be corrected soon, but it's good to see that it's only in a hand full of places.
